Congressman Latta to Host Cybersecurity Seminar

Washington, DC, May 22, 2013 | Laura Strange (202-225-6405)

Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green), will host a cybersecurity seminar, in conjunction with the FBI's Counterintelligence Division, on Friday, May 31, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the following location:

Ohio Northern University
Dicke Forum
James F. Dicke Hall
525 South Main Street
Ada, OH 45810

The seminar is for business owners, government officials, and individuals who are looking to learn more about cyber crime and ways to best protect themselves online. Cybersecurity affects anyone and everyone, from individuals to the government, and poses serious threats to our nation’s infrastructure, particularly the economy.  Small businesses are key contributors to the nation’s infrastructure, but are common targets to cyber crime.

“Cyber crimes pose a serious threat to businesses, large and small, as well as their employees and customers. The FBI estimates that there are more than one million victims of cyber crime every day,” said Congressman Latta. “It is important that individuals and business owners in northwest and west central Ohio are informed and prepared to protect themselves against cyber attacks.”
