According to an announcement from the Labor Department, the consumer price index for January, which measures the costs of dozens of everyday consumer goods, rose 7.5% compared with a year ago. The last time it was this high was 40 years ago in 1982! Folks have already been feeling the effects of inflation in Ohio, and many of you have shared this directly with me.
