Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) is proud to announce the 2011 Congressional Art Competition. The competition is open to all high school students who reside in the Fifth Congressional District.
“The Congressional Art Competition is an excellent opportunity for high school students from our district to showcase their artistic ability. I look forward to seeing our district’s creative talent represented in our Congressional hallway,” said Congressman Latta.
The artwork must be submitted by March 25, 2011 to one of three district offices. The offices are located at: 1045 N. Main Street, Suite 6 Bowling Green, Ohio 43402-1361; 101 Clinton Street, Suite 1200 Defiance, Ohio 43512-2165; and 11 East Main Street Norwalk, Ohio 44857.
Winners will be announced on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Owens Community College’s Center for Fine and Performing Arts, Walter E. Terhune Gallery. The selected artwork will be displayed in the Capitol from June 2011 – June 2012.
Artwork categories are as follows:
• Paintings: oil, acrylics, watercolor, etc.
• Drawings: pastels, colored pencil, pencil, charcoal, ink, markers
• Collage: must be two dimensional
• Prints: lithographs, silkscreen, block prints • Mixed Media: use of more than two mediums such as pencil, ink, etc.
• Computer generated art
