Latta Receives Second Consecutive "Taxpayers Friend Award"

WASHINGTON, D.C. , April 5, 2011 | Izzy Santa (202-226-4356)

Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) was recognized this week for his outstanding pro-taxpayer voting record last year. The 362,000-member National Taxpayers Union (NTU), a nonpartisan citizen group, has announced that Congressman Latta is among the distinguished recipients of the 2010 “Taxpayers’ Friend Award.”

The award is given to Representatives and Senators who achieve an “A” grade in NTU’s annual Rating of Congress. The Rating, which is based on every roll call vote affecting fiscal policy, assigns a “Taxpayer Score” to each Member of Congress that indicates his or her support for reducing or controlling federal spending, taxes, debt, and regulation. For 2010, a total of 165 House and 142 Senate votes were selected from the second session of the 111th Congress.

“Reducing tax rates improve our country’s economic growth and increases our living standards. I am proud of my voting record and will make sure that current and future generations of American families and businesses can enjoy more of their hard-earned money,” Congressman Latta said.
