Today, Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) met with the United States Postal Service District Manager for the Northern Ohio District and discussed the future of the Mansfield mail processing facility, the consolidation results of the Lima and Toledo mail processing centers and the permanency of the Waterville post office. After the meeting, Congressman Latta issued the following statement:

“It is extremely important for the citizens of our region to have the best postal service available so that they can transact business, receive and send mail, and conduct all the other services that their local post offices provide.  Given the last postal service report from the Inspector General on the closing of the Lima mail processing center, I believe that the Postal Service should heed the concerns that were raised.

“I will continue to the monitor the situation and recommend that any upcoming proposals have better transition preparation and more effective management.”
