Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) issued the following statement:

“When Al Qaeda hijacked four planes and flew them into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania, ten years ago today, our nation changed forever. The United States was under attack at home for the first time since Pearl Harbor.

“Today, we mourn the loss of the 3,000 innocent lives lost and we remember the survivors and the many brave citizens who helped during this tragedy, including first responders, recovery workers, volunteers, public safety officers and members of our military.

“Amidst the darkest day America experienced in a generation, our country’s unwavering spirit was tested and like generations before us, we have risen again showing our devotion for what makes this country great – life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

“I join my fellow Americans in a moment of silence today.”
