Latta Announces 2012 Congressional Art Competition

Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) is proud to announce the 2012 Congressional Art Competition. The competition is open to all high school students who reside in the Fifth Congressional District. “The Congressional Art Competition is an excellent opportunity for high school students from our district to showcase their artistic ability. I look forward to seeing our district’s creative talent represented in the Congressional hallway in the Capitol,” said Congressman Latta. The artwork must be submitted by April 11, 2012. Applicants can drop off their application and artwork to one of the district offices located at: 1045 N. Main Street, Suite 6, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402-1361; 101 Clinton Street, Suite 1200, Defiance, Ohio 43512-2165; and 11 East Main Street Norwalk, Ohio 44857. District staff is also available to obtain artwork from students. To arrange a pick up time, contact the Defiance office at 419-782-1996. Winners will be announced on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Owens Community College’s Center for Fine and Performing Arts, Walter E. Terhune Gallery. The selected artwork will be displayed in the Capitol from June 2012 to June 2013. Artwork categories are as follows: • Paintings: oil, acrylics, watercolor, etc. • Drawings: pastels, colored pencil, pencil, charcoal, ink, markers • Collage: must be two dimensional • Prints: lithographs, silkscreen, block prints • Mixed Media: use of more than two mediums such as pencil, ink, etc. • Computer generated art • Photography For guideline information, visit /UploadedFiles/img-214142213-0001.pdf. |
