Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) issued the following statement on President Obama’s failure to submit a budget for Fiscal Year 2014 by the legally-mandated deadline: “This marks the fourth time in five years that President Obama has missed his deadline to submit a budget to Congress and the Senate has not passed a budget in almost four years. With trillion-dollar budget deficits over the past four years, Democrats in Washington have failed to do their jobs and missed opportunities to show the American people that they are serious about addressing our out-of-control federal spending, restoring economic growth, and creating good jobs for America’s hardworking taxpayers.” The Budget and Accounting Act of 1921 requires the president to submit his budget request to Congress for the upcoming fiscal year no later than the first Monday of February. ### |
