Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) issued the following statement after approval of a resolution that establishes the fiscal year 2014 budget, which balances the budget in ten years:

“Hardworking taxpayers and small business owners have to live within their means, and in Ohio, every level of government is required to balance its budget. With our economy still struggling and too many Americans out of work, it is critical that Washington reins in its out-of-control spending.

“The Senate Democrat's budget plan, which raises taxes and fails to balance the budget, provides a stark contrast to the Republican budget plan. The Republican plan is a pledge to Americans to balance the federal budget in ten years, tackle Washington’s wasteful spending, and fix the broken tax code to restore economic growth and create jobs.”
