TOMORROW: Congressional Art Competition Winner to be Announced

Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH) will announce the winner of the 2014 Congressional Art Competition at a reception held at The University of Findlay’s Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion tomorrow. This year, 64 students from 11 schools located throughout Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District submitted their original artwork for the chance to have it displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.

“The Congressional Art Competition is a tremendous opportunity for us to showcase the wealth of artistic talent in Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District,” said Latta. “This year, we have had an overwhelming number of submissions from our students, and I look forward to having the winner’s artwork proudly represent our district in Washington, D.C.”

All submitted artwork is currently on display at the Dudley and Mary Marks Lea Gallery in The University of Findlay's Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion, which is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Please note: The gallery will close to the public at 10 a.m. on May 3.) At the reception, three honorable mentions will also be announced, and their artwork will be displayed in Congressman Latta's district offices.
