Congressional Art Competition Winner to be Announced

Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH) will announce the winner of the 2015 Congressional Art Competition at a reception held at The University of Findlay’s Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion on Saturday, May 2. This year, 91 students from 19 schools located throughout Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District submitted their original artwork for the chance have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year. “Since 1982, the Congressional Art Competition has provided a tremendous opportunity to showcase the incredible artistic creativity and innovation of our district’s students,” said Latta. “This year, nearly one hundred students from across the Fifth Congressional District submitted entries into the competition, and I am looking forward to having the winner’s art proudly representing our district on display in Washington, D.C.” All submitted artwork is currently on display at the Dudley and Mary Marks Lea Gallery in the University of Findlay's Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion through May 2, and are available for viewing between the hours of 8AM-8PM during the showing. The winners of the 2015 Congressional Art Competition will be announced at a reception held in the Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion on Saturday, May 2. The overall winner’s artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol alongside the artwork from other nationwide contestants. In addition, three honorable mentions will also be announced and displayed in Congressman Latta's district offices. Media are invited to attend the reception at The University of Findlay.
