Latta Awarded ‘True Blue’ Award for Standing Up for Family Values

Washington, February 23, 2017 | Drew Griffin (202-225-6405)
Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) was recently awarded the ‘True Blue’ Award from the Family Research Council’s legislative affiliate, FRC Action, for his 100 percent voting record on the 2016 scorecard. The scorecard includes votes that support faith, family, and freedom including eliminating taxpayer funding for abortion, protecting religious freedom, and preventing government discrimination against pro-life groups.

“I’m honored to receive the ‘True Blue’ award which is presented to Members of Congress that steadfastly vote to uphold family values,” said Latta. “Whether it’s protecting our religious freedoms or standing up for the unborn, there is no room for representatives to waver on these important issues. I’ll continue to stand up for life, family, and religious liberty principles in Congress and represent the values of Ohio’s 5th Congressional District.”

“We thank Representative Latta for consistently voting to uphold faith, family and freedom,” said Family Research Council Action President Tony Perkins. “Rep. Latta voted to repeal key parts of Obamacare, protect unborn children and their mothers, end the forced partnership between taxpayers and Planned Parenthood, allow students to attend the school of their choice, and protect pro-life organizations and employers from being forced to hire individuals who disagree with pro-life principles. We can be encouraged by elected officials who are willing to be criticized as they stand for family values. Members like Rep. Latta deserve praise for their unwavering commitment to stand for life, family, marriage, and religious liberty.”
