Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) will be joined by Major James M. Bell, a Senior U.S. Army Aviator and lawyer who recently served as Political-Military Strategic Planner on the Joint Staff at the Pentagon, for tonight’s State of the Union Address. Major Bell has also served as a Military Academy Liaison Officer for West Point Admissions and is on Congressman Latta’s U.S. Military Service Academy Advisory Board. Bell has previously deployed to Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan where he served as a pilot, maintenance contracting officer representative, and on a special general staff red team, respectively.
Major Bell received his Juris Doctorate in law from Ohio Northern University in Ada, and his family makes their home in Findlay. His wife, Carmela, serves as President of the Hancock County Medical Society. “I’m very pleased that Major Bell will join me at tonight’s State of the Union address,” said Latta. “Major Bell has served his country with distinction — volunteering to help with the lead-up to surge operations in Iraq, flying missions as a pilot in the Middle East, and in his position at the Pentagon. He has also played a significant role in identifying the next generation of military leadership as a liaison officer for West Point and by serving as part of my academy advisory team. As Congress continues its work to rebuild our military and provide the resources they need to combat our global threats, Major Bell is emblematic of the high-quality people that serve in our armed forces.” ### |
