Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) congratulated students from Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District on their acceptance to one of the U.S. Military Service Academies at an event on Saturday at the Toledo Air National Guard Base in Swanton. All of the students were nominated by Congressman Latta and have received offers of appointment for the Class of 2022 at their respective academies. While the Congressman’s office nominates students, the respective service academies make the acceptance decisions. “These exceptionally talented students have made the decision to serve their country by attending our fine military service academies,” said Latta. “Acceptance at the academies is tough, and their task will get even tougher as they face rigorous academic course loads, military training, and physical fitness standards. I have the utmost confidence that these young men and women will meet these challenges and exceed them. I look forward to seeing their progress as they grow into the next generation of leaders.” The following students were recognized: U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado Jenna Kill, Sylvania, Northview High School McKenzie Mercer, Cygnet, Elmwood High School Cole Ragan, Whitehouse, Anthony Wayne High School David Mulligan, Sylvania, Northview High School Austin Stoner, Toledo, Whitmer High School
