Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) released the following statement on the 17th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
“While it has been seventeen years since the horrific terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the pain can still be felt. Thousands of Americans that were going about their day would not return home. The twin towers of the World Trade Center fell and parts of the Pentagon crumbled. We all remember where we were when our nation came under attack. “What that day also showed was our country’s resilience. Countless stories of heroism have emerged over the years that told the stories of American after American sacrificing for others. We saw the bravery of first responders rushing into the towers. Many of these heroes gave the ultimate sacrifice. We know the story of Todd Beamer, gathering his fellow passengers to rush the cockpit of Flight 93. They lost their lives, but there is no telling how many lives their actions saved. “On the 17th anniversary of those attacks, let’s take time to remember our fellow Americans that perished on that day. We pray for the families who had their loved ones taken from them. And, we resolve to stay vigilant in our efforts to prevent another terrorist attack on our soil. Never Forget.” ### |
