Latta Statement on Senate Passage of Legislation to Combat Opioid Crisis, INFO Act

Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) released the following statement after the U.S. Senate passed a legislative package to combat the opioid epidemic which included legislation authored by Latta, the Indexing, Narcotics, Fentanyl, and Opioids (INFO) Act. The bill, H.R. 6, passed the House last week. The INFO Act has been named a key provision in the legislative package by the Washington Examiner.

“Legislation to take an all-hands-on-deck approach to combating the opioid crisis is now heading to the President’s desk,” said Latta. “Along with a record amount of Federal resources that have been made available to address this epidemic, the policies in this bill will help prevent addiction, provide treatment, and keep illicit drugs out of our communities. Legislation I authored, the INFO Act, will help Ohio communities find the information and funding they need to attack this issue on the ground. I commend the Senate for passing this bill and urge President Trump to act quickly and sign it into law.”
