Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) released the following statement after voting against H.R. 5. “This legislation lacked protections for free speech, freedom of religion, freedom of conscience, and parental rights. Among the most egregious components is the explicit exclusion of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, leaving churches, synagogues, mosques, and other places of worship subject to regulations prohibiting practices central to their religious identities. This goes against our country’s foundational values and I couldn’t support it.” |
