Latta Attends Annual Grid Innovation and Infrastructure Expo

Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green), co-chair of the Congressional Grid Innovation Caucus, today joined the Edison Electric Institute, GridWise Alliance, National Electrical Manufacturers Association, and his fellow co-chair Congressman Jerry McNerney (D-CA) at the Grid Innovation and Infrastructure Expo on Capitol Hill. This expo showcases a wide range of modern energy technologies, including electric vehicles, distributed energy management, cybersecurity, advanced metering, and storm hardening.

“This event is an exciting opportunity to see up close the innovation that’s going on across the country towards a more reliable, efficient, and secure energy future,” said Latta. “The private sector is rapidly innovating, and it’s helping our country find ways to update our grid and make us less vulnerable to cyberattacks. Congress needs to be a partner and support this innovation.”

Congressman Latta has long been an advocate for energy innovation, particularly for cybersecurity. He has partnered with Congressman McNerney on several bills, including the Cyber Sense Act. The Cyber Sense Act creates a voluntary Cyber Sense program to test the cybersecurity of products and technologies intended for use in the bulk-power system.
