Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH5) honors our American fallen heroes through a video message ahead of Memorial Day at the Wood County War Memorials located in Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District at the Wood County Court House.

A transcript of Congressman Latta’s remarks are below:

“Memorial Day is a day that we honor those who have given their lives in service to our country. Memorial Day started as Decoration Day after the Civil War. Since then, we have been honoring those who have given their lives for our nation. We honor them with memorials like we have here in Wood County and across the Fifth District and across the nation. But it’s always important that on Memorial Day, we remember those who gave their lives because we would not have the freedoms today if it was not for them. So let’s always remember on Memorial Day to thank those who have given their lives in the service to our country.”
