Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH5) provided the following statement after the confirmation of Judge Amy Coney Barrett as a Supreme Court Justice of the United States: 

“Confirming Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court marks a historic night for the American people. In the highest court of the United States, it is important to have someone who will interpret the law, not make it. Judge Barrett has proven she is extremely qualified for this position. Based on her impeccable credentials, endorsements from those in the legal field, strong record of upholding the Constitution, and in-depth confirmation hearing, I am confident Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett will be an invaluable asset to our nation’s highest court. 

“President Trump was elected by the American people to serve a full, four-year term, and it is his constitutional imperative to nominate a candidate to serve as a Supreme Court Justice in the event of a vacancy. I appreciate the Senate’s prompt attention to this nomination process and am proud to call Judge Amy Coney Barrett a Supreme Court Justice.”
