Latta Statement on the Anniversary of the 9/11 Attacks
Washington,
September 11, 2023
Today, Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH5) released the following statement reflecting on the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks that took place in New York, Virginia, and Pennsylvania: “22 years ago, our nation was attacked by terrorists. 2,977 innocent American lives were lost, and families were left forever heartbroken. First responders put their all on the line as buildings crumbled and planes crashed. Heroes at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon rushed into the flames to save as many lives as they could, even if that meant sacrificing their own. And on Flight 93, the heroic actions of passengers who rushed the cockpit cost them their lives, but likely saved thousands of lives on the ground. “Today is a reminder that as Americans, our freedoms and rights unite us. We live in the greatest country in the world, and not even terrorists could take that away from us. “No matter how many years pass, we will never forget September 11, 2001.” |
