Through the working family tax cuts, Congress and President Trump are making a critical investment in rural hospitals, communities, and providers through the Rural Health Transformation Program. The Rural Health Transformation Program includes $50 billion over five years to help cover costs of care at rural facilities that oftentimes operate at a loss due to size and the acuity of care needed to provide to their communities. Thanks to the working family tax cuts, rural areas will thrive and have the access to care they deserve.

Ohio's agriculture industry sustains jobs, families, and our food supply. I was proud to support the new working tax cuts which deliver historic investments to strengthen Ohio's famers, boost production, and secure our food supply for generations to come. Our farmers deserve the ability to grow their operations and access more flexible, lower-cost loans. With the working family tax cuts, we are cutting wasteful spending and reducing fraud and abuse in the federal government.

This important tax legislation delivers the largest tax cut for middle and working class Americans in history. By eliminating taxes on overtime, tips, and most seniors' Social Security benefits, Ohioans can keep more of their hard-earned money. The new tax provisions include a $6,000 tax deduction for seniors and expanded deductions for charitable giving. These changes ensure seniors can stretch their retirement income further and maintain financial security throughout retirement.

As Chairman of the Energy Subcommittee on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, I was proud to support the working family tax cuts because they are going to restore American energy dominance and lower energy costs for families nationwide. This fall, I will continue to support policies that will lower prices for consumers while ensuring our nation's energy dominance through investing in new energy projects and technologies and supporting market-driven energy sources.

Medicaid is an indispensable lifeline for our nation's most vulnerable populations. The working family tax cuts ensure that Medicaid prioritizes expectant mothers, seniors, children, and individuals with disabilities while cutting back on the waste, fraud, and abuse that have hurt the program for years. According to the Congressional Budget Office, new scores and data confirm that these changes will strengthen, secure, and sustain Medicaid, ensuring its long-term stability for the Americans who need it most.
