Latta Language to Secure Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Included in House Passed Bill

Washington, DC, September 28, 2013 | Laura Strange (202-225-6405)

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Drug Quality and Security Act (H.R. 3204), introduced by Congressman Fred Upton (R-MI), which included language based on the Safeguarding America’s Pharmaceuticals Act of 2013 (H.R. 1919), introduced by Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH) earlier this year.

“I applaud Chairman Upton for his work on this bill, and I’m very pleased to see that H.R. 1919, a bill that I introduced to strengthen and secure our nation’s pharmaceutical distribution supply chain, was included in this overall legislative package,” said Latta. “I am proud to support H.R. 3204, which makes improvements to the current supply chain and ensures greater patient safety for all Americans.”
