Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) today released the following statement after the House passed H.R. 4118, the SIMPLE Fairness Act on the House Floor. The legislation would provide hardworking American taxpayers the same relief the Administration has already granted businesses, by eliminating the individual mandate penalty tax under Obamacare for 2014. 

“Contrary to the very promises Obamacare was sold on, American families have seen their premiums skyrocket, have lost their coverage and have been forced to choose new doctors,” said Latta. “The President’s signature law has been nothing short of a disaster – a fact that the Administration has confirmed by repeatedly delaying or repealing various provisions of the law. While delaying the law’s mandates for businesses throughout the country, the Administration refuses to grant this same relief to hardworking Americans. Therefore, the House once again joined together today to bring fairness for all under Obamacare by ensuring that no American is penalized for Obamacare’s failures.”
