Latta Responds to President’s State of the Union Address

Washington, January 20, 2015 | Sarah Criser (202-225-6405)

Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH) today released the following statement after listening to the President’s State of the Union address:

“I, like many Americans, listened to tonight’s State of the Union address hoping to hear the President outline a clear plan that would spur job creation and put America’s hardworking taxpayers first,” said Latta. “I had hoped to hear how the President would proactively lead our nation in matters of national security and that there would be a renewed focus on domestic energy production. Instead, the President focused on the same failed policies that have burdened Americans with more government, more regulations and higher taxes. America’s new Congress provides an opportunity for us to work together to put Americans’ priorities first – to develop a government that is efficient and works for the people, not against them. Tonight, the President missed this opportunity, but I would welcome him to join us in this effort going forward.”
