Latta Votes to Repeal Obamacare

Washington, February 3, 2015 | Sarah Criser (202-225-6405)

Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH) today joined his colleagues in the U.S. House of Representatives in voting to support H.R. 596, legislation to repeal Obamacare. The legislation also instructs Committee Chairmen to craft better solutions to reform health care in America.

“Obamacare’s negative impacts on job creation and economic growth reach far and wide,” said Latta. “With the majority of Americans still opposing the President’s signature law, it is important that we continue to take steps to repeal and replace Obamacare with substantive solutions.

“Obamacare was sold to the American people on the false promises that it would reduce health care costs, allow individuals to keep their preferred doctors and allow individuals to keep the plans they had and liked. Americans deserve better than Obamacare, and through this legislation, we can repeal the President’s poorly thought out law and continue to present better ideas to strengthen our health care system and empower patients with more choices.”

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office estimates that the health care law will reduce the number of full-time equivalent workers by 2.5 million. American Action Forum research also finds that Obamacare regulations are reducing small business wages by at least $22.6 billion annually.
