Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH) on the Passage of the Improving Coal Combustion Residuals Regulation Act of 2015

Today, Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH) voted in support of H.R. 1734, the “Improving Coal Combustion Residuals Regulation Act of 2015”.

H.R. 1734 calls for the safe management and disposal of coal ash. The bipartisan legislation is the culmination of a multi-year, multi-Congress effort to improve options for safe energy byproduct management and recycling.

“This important legislation establishes state-based regulatory permit programs with that will ensure the safe management and disposal of coal ash, in a manner that preserves jobs and encourages recycling,” said Rep. Latta.  “H.R. 1734 protects public health, and the environment, while providing greater clarity and regulatory certainty for the energy sector so they can provide Americans with affordable electricity.”
