Latta Votes for Bipartisan Mental Health Care Reforms

Today, Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) joined his colleagues in passing H.R. 2646, the Helping Families in Mental Health Crisis Act, to make meaningful reforms to the current mental health system. The bill, which passed the U.S. House of Representatives with bipartisan support, is the first significant update to the mental health system in decades. H.R. 2646 improves mental health care coordination across the federal government and enhances communication among providers, families, and patients to ensure the best possible treatment for those living with mental illness.

“It’s been far too long since we’ve made meaningful reforms aimed at helping people living with mental illness and their families,” said Latta. “This legislation provides solutions for patients by filling gaps in the current mental health system and removing federal barriers to care. Passing this bill will make a real difference in the lives of the millions of Americans with mental illness.”
