Michael Garver Oxley Memorial Post Office Building to be Dedicated on October 28

Dedication in Findlay to coincide with naming of highway after late Congressman

Next Friday, October 28, 2016, the Findlay Post Office will be officially dedicated as the Michael Garver Oxley Memorial Post Office Building in a ceremony held at the Marathon Performing Arts Center. The joint ceremony will also include the naming of a portion of U.S. Route 30 as the Congressman Michael G. Oxley Memorial Highway.

Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green), author of the legislation to name the post office, will give remarks. State Representative Robert Sprague, who introduced the highway memorial legislation will also speak. In addition, Oxley’s son, Elvis, and a representative from the U.S. Postal Service will give remarks.

The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. Any individuals that would like to attend should RSVP with Andy Lorenz, District Director in Congressman Latta’s office, by phone at (419) 354-8700 or by email at andrew.lorenz@mail.house.gov. RSVPs are requested by Friday, October 21.

Congressman Oxley, a Findlay native, served over thirty years in the Ohio House of Representatives and Congress where he rose to become the Chairman of the Financial Services Committee. Rep. Oxley passed away earlier this year.
