U.S. Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH5) provided the following statement in support of the China Task Force Act after becoming a co-sponsor of the legislation:

“The 137 bills included in the China Task Force Act will help secure our supply chains and ensure American leadership in the race for technological innovation. The Chinese Communist Party (CPP) perpetuates violations of human rights in China and around the world. The Chinese regime’s abhorrent actions not only harm their own citizens, but they have destabilizing repercussions across the globe – as evidenced by the proliferation of COVID-19 due to their deceitful behavior. The China Task Force Act is a tangible set of solutions seeking to end the CCP’s monopoly on power, and I’m proud that four different pieces of legislation I’ve authored were included in the bill. This legislation will secure our country from foreign threats and provide for a stronger, more self-sufficient America.”

The China Task Force Act is a comprehensive legislative blueprint for U.S. foreign policy with the Chinese Communist Party that includes 137 bills and other provisions recommended by the China Task Force. Two-thirds of these measures have bipartisan support and more than a third have already passed the House or the Senate.

The China Task Force Act includes legislation authored by Congressman Latta:

• the SELF DRIVE Act,
• the SMART IoT Act,
• the Advancing Unmanned Delivery Services Act, and
• the Nuclear Prosperity and Security Act.
