WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH) provided the following statement after Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) was chosen as the Republican to lead the Energy and Commerce Committee in the 117th Congress:

“The Energy and Commerce Committee is widely respected as one of, if not, the best committee in Washington, with a jurisdiction that covers the kinds of policy areas families discuss at their kitchen tables. I have had the honor of working alongside Cathy at the Energy and Commerce Committee and have seen her commitment to ensuring her Republican colleagues are able to get the job done and communicate their work in Washington to their constituents back home. I’d like to send my sincere congratulations to Cathy for being named the Republican Leader of Energy and Commerce Committee next Congress.

“Energy and Commerce has a rich history of working in a bipartisan fashion, and I know Cathy will continue that tradition. I am also confident that she will stand strong and push back against the Democrats’ progressive agenda when bipartisan solutions are not possible. I look forward to working with Cathy and our Republican colleagues to restore and protect our American way of life so that we can retake the Majority in 2022.”
