Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) made the following statement regarding President Obama’s budget proposal that was released today: “65 days late, the President has finally released a budget proposal that is simply a plan that will grow the government, not the economy. His budget proposal never balances, calls for $1.1 trillion in new taxes, and increases federal government spending. “Rather than put the country on a sustainable fiscal path, the President has made it clear that balancing the budget is not a priority. Right now, families across Ohio and the country are forced to make tough financial decisions to balance their budgets – now is the time for the federal government to do the same. “Last month, House Republicans passed a budget that will balance in 10 years, grow the economy, and help create jobs without raising taxes. I believe we can agree on solutions to address our debt and deficit without raising taxes and putting the brunt on America’s hardworking taxpayers.”
