Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) released the following statement today regarding the fifth year anniversary of the filing of the Keystone XL Pipeline application: “Today marks the fifth year since the permits were filed to begin construction for the Keystone XL Pipeline. While gas prices linger above $3 per gallon, I cannot understand why President Obama continues to delay a shovel-ready project that will produce 830,00 barrels of oil per day and puts our country on a path to greater energy security. “In addition to greater energy security, this $7 billion private-sector infrastructure project would create 20,000 new American manufacturing and construction jobs, 100,000 indirect jobs, and additional revenue. Hardworking Americans and businesses deserve the lower energy prices and economic development that this project will bring, and I urge the administration to finally approve the Keystone XL Pipeline.” ### |
