Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) released the following statement after President Trump signed H.R. 5515, the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) into law this afternoon. Latta served on the Conference Committee that worked out the differences between the House and Senate versions of the annual defense bill. “The rebuilding of our military after nearly a decade of drawdowns is another important action taken by the President and the Republican-led Congress,” said Latta. “I was honored to work on the NDAA’s Conference Committee to hammer out a defense bill that provides our troops with the largest pay raise in nine years, increases readiness, and replaces our military’s aging equipment, aircraft, and naval ships. Our armed forces should have the resources they need to confront threats in an increasingly dangerous world. Combined with other recent legislative accomplishments like the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the VA MISSION Act, and the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21stCentury Act, it’s clear that the promises made to the American people are being kept.”
