Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s visit to Cleveland, Ohio:

“While I am glad President Obama is sitting down with small businesses and hearing their concerns, it is too little and too late.  From the start, this Administration has refused to listen to America's small businessmen and businesswomen.  This is evident in the President's job killing and burdensome federal regulations, the world's third highest business taxes, the 1099 tax filing requirement and Obamacare.

“Since President Obama took office, over 139,600 Ohioans have lost their jobs and the unemployment rate skyrocketed to 11 percent one year after the stimulus was enacted.  After the massive stimulus spending, Americans are asking, where are the jobs Mr. President that you promised?  President Obama promised that unemployment would not go above eight percent if the first stimulus was passed and he still wants more as revealed in his State of the Union message.  The way to winning the future is through pro-growth policies that allow Main Street to grow and create jobs.

“Mr. President what Americans want are good jobs.  Let's not stop the entrepreneur from creating those jobs.”
