Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH) recently sent a letter to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne requesting a meeting to discuss his recent comments that next generation Jeep Wranglers might not be built in Toledo, Ohio – its home for more than 70 years. In the letter, Latta underscored the city’s longstanding commitment to the company and expressed concerns about the economic impacts such a move would have on the region. “The Toledo Jeep Wrangler production facility is not only an important economic driver in Northwest Ohio, but it is also an important part of the local community,” said Latta. “Toledo’s highly skilled workers have institutional wisdom that is a direct result of their experience and commitment to producing Jeep Wranglers, something that is not easily replicated. I urge Mr. Marchionne to keep this longstanding partnership and history of success between the company and the Toledo-based community in mind. I look forward to discussing further this important matter with him.” A copy of the letter can be found here. ### |
