WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) celebrated National Manufacturing Day by recognizing the work of Ohio manufacturers. Latta represents Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District which is home to 60,000 manufacturing jobs, and he serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee which oversees the majority of legislation affecting the the manufacturing sector.

In response to Latta’s strong track record of supporting Ohio manufacturers and employees, Whirlpool Corporation recently presented him with a Kitchenaid dishwasher door to display in his Washington, D.C. Office. The door was built in Whirlpool Corporation's Findlay plant.

“I’m privileged to represent 60,000 hardworking men and women in Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District that produce American-made goods and help grow our economy,” said Latta. “On National Manufacturing Day, it’s important to recognize just how critical the manufacturing industry is to our success in Ohio and around the country. Instituting policies that allow our manufacturers to increase their global competitiveness and create jobs here at home is a focus of mine, and I appreciate Whirlpool for recognizing my efforts. From now on, any visitor to my Washington office will be able to see up close the outstanding work of one of Ohio’s manufacturers.”

“On behalf of our 10,000 Ohio-based manufacturing employees, and especially our 2,300 employees in Findlay, we thank Congressman Latta for his tireless efforts to support American manufacturing,” said David Szczupak, Executive Vice President for Whirlpool Corporation’s Global Product Organization. "We appreciate his leadership on the issues important to Whirlpool Corporation, the appliance industry overall, and the Findlay community.”
