Today, Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) highlighted widespread support for tax reform legislation pending before Congress. The support comes from small businesses, manufacturers, advocates for the agricultural industry, conservative groups, and economists. Included in the list are the American Farm Bureau Federation, the National Federation of Independent Business — the nation’s largest small business group, Americans for Tax Reform, Club for Growth, the National Association for Manufacturers, the American Made Coalition, and others. In addition, a letter to Congress from 137 leading economists said passage of the tax bill will lead to more jobs, higher wages, and a better standard of living.
Recently, Congressman Latta joined his colleagues in the U.S. House of Representatives in passing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. That legislation would allow the average American family to keep nearly $1,200 more of their income every year and create more than 33,000 jobs in Ohio according to the Tax Foundation. The Senate is currently working to pass their version of tax reform. “The massive support for tax reform from pro-growth groups, manufacturers, small businesses, taxpayer advocate organizations, and economists confirm that the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will increase economic growth and put more money in the pockets of hardworking Americans,” said Latta. “Changing the status quo is never easy, and it was quite predictable that this legislation would be subject to numerous baseless attacks. That being said, leading economic groups are clear - this bill will create jobs, cut taxes for the middle-class, and put U.S. businesses on a level playing field with their international competitors.” Supporters of Tax Reform Include: National Association of Manufacturers National Retail Foundation American Farm Bureau Federation Business Roundtable Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council Real Estate Roundtable Financial Services Roundtable RATE Coalition American Made Coalition American Petroleum Institute National Association of Broadcasters Association of Equipment Manufacturers Edison Electric Institute Grocery Manufacturers Association American Trucking Association American Forest & Paper Association Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association National Federation of Independent Business U.S. Chamber of Commerce National Taxpayers Union Americans for Tax Reform Americans for Prosperity Heritage Action for America Freedomworks Club for Growth Freedom Partners Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund American Action Network Taxpayers Protection Alliance American Commitment ALEC Action Faith and Freedom Coalition Hispanic Leadership Fund ### |
