Nikki Moyers, VP of Operations at Perrysburg’s Jerl Machine, will testify in front of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection (DCCP) tomorrow. The hearing, entitled, ‘Built in America: Jobs and Growth in the Manufacturing Sector,’ will take a look at American manufacturing in light of the passage of recent pro-growth policies. The subcommittee is chaired by Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) and has oversight over policies affecting manufacturers.
The hearing will take place on Wednesday, September 26 at 10 a.m. and can be viewed online at the Energy and Commerce website. Jerl Machine was created in 1975 and provides precision metalworking and machining for a diverse group of industrial and manufacturing customers. Latta toured their facility in August to see the work they are doing up close. A booming economy and the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act has led to a resurgence in American manufacturing of late. According to a survey by the National Association of Manufacturers, 95.1% of manufacturers have a positive outlook for their companies – an all-time high. “Ohio’s 5th Congressional District is home to more than 60,000 manufacturing jobs,” said Latta. “When American manufacturing is doing well, it means Northwest and West Central Ohio are doing well. I want to thank Nikki Moyers for agreeing to come to Washington and share what recent changes in tax and regulatory policies have meant for Jerl Machine and other manufacturers in the region.” ### |
